I started this discussion http://psx-scene.com/forums/f19/code...ng-all-120485/ (Codebreaker not working at all) because I was having issues with Codebreaker.
So here is how I fixed it:
First you need to know that it can run what so ever from the BOOT folder in mass:/ or in the Memory Card.
I recommend you to run it from the mass:/ and will know why.
If you don't run it from mass:/, you will have to delete your BOOT.ELF file from the BOOT folder in the memory card, which I know that probably is uLaunch elf, am I correct?
That's because the patched program looks for 2 files, CB_launch.elf and boot.elf.
Even if you run it from mass:/, you would have to delete the boot.elf from the memory card, but there is no need for that as you know an alternative now:
1 - Burn uLaunch elf to a dvd (It has to be bootable), I'm supposing you have a mod chip installed, if not, use swap magic disc.
2 - Remove the memory card.
3 - In Windows, open your USB unit and create a folder in the root (Outside all folders) called BOOT (As stated before), place your codebreaker inside that folder and rename it to CB_launch.elf (Also stated before).
4 - Now plug your USB device on your console and insert your uLaunch elf disc, don't hold R1 (R1 probably won't work anyway).
5 - Browse the BOOT folder, open the CB_launch.elf, the screen will go black as usual, wait until it blinks, if your USB HDD connector has a LED which blinks when the HD data is being read, it will turn off, but the blink on the screen should be enough for you to know when the software was loaded.
6 - After the blink, remove the USB unit, codebreaker will load up.
7 - Insert your memory card, save your settings, go to Day 1 and update using network.
8 - Be happy.
Tested on Playstation 2 Slim 90006, my unit doesn't have a date code.
Versions tested: Codebreaker v9C already patched, Codebreaker v10 (Patched manually).
PS: Of course you can have codebreaker on your memory card and working, but then you would have to use code breaker as the boot file and not uLaunch elf.
